On the second day, no one got enough sleep. It was really hard waking up at 7:30. Actually, it didn't get better as the days were passing. Breakfast was kind of more-less awkward because we didn't actually know anyone or anything except a few people that sat next to us last night. The hardest thing for a lot of people was singing at 8 am, but it is kind of a tradition. After an amazing and diverse breakfast we had camp orientation!
The Teamers split us into 4 element groups. Air, Earth, Water and Fire. Those are basically groups of people with who you are gonna spend the most time with who. When we got separated, we went with our element group liders on a tour of the Maltesehof and the surroundings. The Hotel is very big with three buildings and a large yard with an adventure park, volleyball, basketball field and a lot of things to play with. We also went to the Rhein River beach. It is very beautiful with swans and a lot of sea shells. It is one of the prettiest things around here besides the little German houses.
We had our first lunch together. Everybody tried the German food ans was quite happy! It was nice to see that everybody was speaking and trying to do his/her best with the English language.
After lunch we had to go in our elementary groups and we started with the cooperative adventure games.
All of them had to be solved as a team! We tried to cooperate the best we could do and did really well!
After diner we had a 'human bingo'. They give us pieces of paper and we had to ask others about their hobbies, favorite colors, parents names, etc. When we finished we went to plenary room to write behavior and house rules. I think we all almost fell asleep. But it was necessary to clarify it.
